Who I AM

I am a Texas litigation attorney currently practicing law in the San Antonio to Austin corridor of Central and South Texas. My office is located in the King William district of San Antonio just south of downtown and I also work remotely in Austin as my schedule allows or requires. I primarily serve clients with matters in Bexar, Comal, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties. Less frequently I've represented clients in Blanco, Caldwell, Guadalupe, and Wilson counties as well.

I graduated from St. Mary's University School of Law, where I spent my second and third year representing St. Mary's Law in mock trial litigation competitions against law schools from all over the country. On more than a couple occasions, I was named "Best Advocate" for my competition performance. I have also served as an adjunct professor at Our Lady of the Lake University, where I taught critical reading, writing, analytical, and other legal skills in beginning and advanced Mock Trial Courses to undergraduates intending to enter law school.

For several years during and after law school, I worked on all aspects of complex plaintiffs' civil litigation cases under the guidance of one of the most elite and successful civil trial lawyers in Texas. I used that priceless experience as a foundation to open my own practice and it continues to be an enormous asset in the operation of my office. While my practice operates in the litigation context of resolving legal matters in court, I frequently resolve disputes out of court through agreement or mediation. I also address a variety of matters preemptively by working with clients to formalize and establish plans regarding potential legal issues in order to minimize or eliminate future litigation before it arises.

I have experience working on a diverse range of legal subject matter including issues pertaining to equine (horse) law; pediatric dentistry; landlord-tenant disputes; civil conspiracy; federal regulations of private airplane manufacturing; feature-film production; non-profit organizations, including the process to obtain federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status; issues affecting borrowers of federal and private student loans; free speech and liability considerations of art creation; real estate purchases; family law issues including divorces, suits involving children under age 3, suits involving Child Protective Services (CPS), conservatorship (custody), highly customized visitation arrangements, child support, temporary orders, final orders, and modifications; purchasing, distribution, and commerce in the health care industry; platting and zoning of residential subdivisions; and more.

I frequently provide legal and business advice to companies in several industries doing business both inside and outside of Texas. In this capacity, I recently helped successfully negotiate and secure a multi-year global licensing and distribution deal with the premiere media distributor of content at the heart of my client's first full-length feature film.

I was born and raised in Austin and I'm very proud to be a third-generation graduate of The University of Texas, where I received my undergraduate degree in Rhetoric & Writing the same year Colt McCoy completed nearly 80% of his passes and should have won the Heisman Trophy.
